#Raise100FemaleTechpreneurs in Nigeria is an empowerment program for unemployed young women from low-income backgrounds where web development and entrepreneurship skills are impacted through 4 months intensive training while personal growth and work experience is attained through 1 month internship. The overall goal is to help these women overcome their problem of economic dependence, upscale their education and develop the mindset to kick-start a professional and sustainable career while bridging the gender imbalance in the IT industry.
Thanks to U.S Consulate General Lagos, pilot phase of this program was successfully held in Imo State, Nigeria and 100 unemployed female graduates aged 19 – 35 years were empowered to become Technology Entrepreneurs through training and mentoring from basics to advanced programing, personal growth and entrepreneurial skills. Upon graduation, they were supported to register their Tech Start-ups online and launch their viable products/services developed.
